Biography

Steven is a Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) where he spearheaded the first Information Security degree programme offered by an autonomous university in Singapore. Steven has over two decades of academic, research and industry experience, and was involved in projects funded over 250 million dollars. He is the co-editor for the Information Security Body of Knowledge (IS-BOK) published by the Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP) and was the co-chair for the Cybersecurity Professionalisation Advisory Group. Awarded the Cybersecurity Awards (Leader) for his contributions, Steven held leadership positions for multiple ICT related organisations and associations both in Singapore as well as in the APAC region. 

Positions he has held include President of AiSP, the co-Chairman of CREST Singapore, the Deputy Chairman of the Coordinating Committee for Cybersecurity (CCCY), the co-Chairman of the Cloud Security Alliance APAC Education Council, the Co-Chairman of IDA WG3 Telecommunications Standards Advisory Committee, etc.
