Biography

Jennifer Daskal brings more than two decades of legal, policy, and public service experience to her work advising clients on complex matters at the intersection of new technology, homeland security, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Jen draws on her experience as the former acting general counsel at the Department of Homeland Security and deputy homeland security advisor at the White House to support clients working through crisis situations, advise on the best and lawful responses to emergent threats, and provide counsel on increasingly complex cross-border data regulatory issues.  This includes leading projects to address barriers to legitimate law enforcement access to data, to address safety and security issues related to new technology, including AI, and to counter the rise of cyber-enable fraud and scams globally.

In addition, Jen has testified before both the Senate and House Judiciary Committees on issues involving law enforcement access to data, as well as counter-drone authorities.  She runs multi-stakeholder exercises to address the threat posed by the malicious use of drones and has particular experience dealing with legal and regulatory issues affecting the drone industry.
